VEROONA
was built in Sydney by The Manly & Port Jackson
Steamship Company in 1942 to lay and maintain the anti-submarine
boom that crossed the harbour
After
the war the lighter was back in service as a coal barge.
The
1960’s saw VEROONA move to Pittwater where it
began life as a mooring lighter for Nottings Boatshed
at Careel Bay.
The
1980S saw VEROONA again move to Brisbane Water where
she was owned by Peter Morgan. Peter restored and gave
the lighter a compete overhaul and refit.
