MOORING SERVICES

Sleep well at night knowing your boat will still be there in the morning!

WARNING: YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND ROADS & MARITIME SERVICES WILL INSIST YOUR MOORING IS SERVICED ANNUALLY.

WHAT WE DO

Annual servicing of your mooring is essential to ensure your boat stays where it is meant to!
When we service your mooring, it is lifted from the water onto the barge with our crane and each part of the mooring is cleaned and inspected for wear and tear.
Any worn parts are replaced/remade with your boat, location and tidal conditions all taken into consideration.

Clients are more than welcome to attend the mooring inspection or leave us to it.

If you upgrade your boat, remember to upgrade your mooring too!

NEW MOORINGS

FACT BOX
Mooring costs vary depending on the weight of the vessel.

You must apply to maritime first and often be placed on a waiting list

Annual servicing of your mooring is essential to ensure your boat stays where it is meant to!  When a mooring company services your mooring, it is lifted from the water onto the barge with a crane and each part of the mooring is cleaned and inspected for wear and tear.
Any worn parts are replaced/remade with your boat, location and tidal conditions all taken into consideration.
For most people a boat is a big investment and the small cost of a substantial mooring put down by a professional mooring service is money well spent. Beware the person who offers to dive on the mooring to check it. It is almost impossible to tell if it is showing wear, especially in poor visibility and the silt on the bottom of most popular mooring areas. To be checked properly the mooring needs to be pulled at least once a year.

HOW DO I GET A NEW MOORING?

Contact NSW Maritime to apply for a Mooring Licence. When your application is approved, contact us and we will custom build a mooring to suit your boat and the specific conditions of your mooring site.

NSW MARITIME SAYS...

  • A NSW Maritime mooring is the most cost-effective method of on-water boat storage available.
  • To help ensure your mooring is laid correctly, NSW Maritime recommends that you engage an experienced mooring contractor, use only quality materials and have the mooring serviced at least once a year to make sure it is in good order.
  • Failure to maintain your mooring could result in equipment failure which may set the vessel adrift with expensive consequences
